Activism
What I believe
We are not here to grow rich, fat, meek and complacent in our little worlds, to live falsely assuming our place, or to live as if we are superior to anyone. We are here to grow poor of anger, ignorance and arrogance, lean through keen attention to those we love who need us and those who need us that we don't even know, bold with bravery and protection of those who must have this, and active with kindness and love that never needs to be asked for.
After all, we"re all equals. We're born, we live, and we die. That which seems to rule us and to separate us: money, experience, possessions, trophies, are but temporary distractions which, when employed to differentiate between us, only highlights the real fear within. We must stand up, stand up to, stand up for, and make the difference.
Anita's statement has been actualised through her support of campaigns for social issues like The Body Shop Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People, the Lien Foundation's Lifebeforedeath.com campaign, and No to Rape. In addition, she is a strong voice and advocate for gender, elder, transient worker and race equality.
